However, if you wish to head on a chimpanzee trek, visiting during the relatively dry season from June to July to find more solid underfoot in the park’s trails is best.

Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest wildlife reserve, with expansive lands that house four of the Big Five and over 450 bird species, including the dwarf kingfisher and great blue turaco. The park is home to various animals, including lions, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, and chimpanzees.

However, the crown jewel of this national park has to be the most powerful waterfalls in the world that violently crash through the gorge and eject from the Victoria Nile River. The constant spray of water causes the falls to have a stunning rainbow, enhancing the spectacle!

The water from Murchison Falls plummets about 43 meters through a narrow gorge; the pressure is such that the falling water trembles the ground around it. It eventually flows into Lake Albert, which invites hippos, waterbucks, crocodiles, and buffaloes.

The Bakiga tribal communities surround the forest in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and the tribe’s women are largely responsible for raising the families. They work the land and tend to animals while raising their children. You can collect memorable cultural experiences in Uganda by spending time with these women and seeing how they help their community thrive. You can learn to cook Bakiga dishes, dance the celebratory dance of the tribe, sew on a treadle sewing machine, and weave baskets from the local grass.

You can mingle with the Kyambura women who grow robustaand Arabica coffee plants on 100 acres near the park.
