Visas and Travel Insurance

Visa Requirements

Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality and the countries you plan to visit. We recommend checking the latest visa regulations before booking your trip.

Popular Safari Destinations:

  • Tanzania – Most visitors require a tourist visa before arrival or can obtain one on arrival.
  • Kenya – Travelers are generally required to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before arrival.
  • Uganda – Tourist visas are available online, and the East Africa Tourist Visa may be suitable for travelers visiting multiple East African countries.
  • Rwanda – Many nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival or apply online before travel.
  • South Africa – Visa requirements depend on nationality, with some visitors eligible for visa-free entry for short stays.

Travelers are responsible for ensuring they have valid passports, visas, and other travel documents required for entry into their destination countries.

Passport Requirements

To avoid travel disruptions, ensure that:

  • Your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
  • Your passport contains at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps.
  • The name on your travel documents matches the name on your passport.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for all safari and trekking holidays.

Your travel insurance should ideally cover:

  • Medical emergencies and hospitalization
  • Emergency evacuation and repatriation
  • Trip cancellation or interruption
  • Lost, stolen, or delayed baggage
  • Personal liability
  • Flight delays and missed connections
  • Adventure activities such as safari excursions, hiking, and gorilla trekking (where applicable)

Gorilla Trekking Insurance

For guests visiting Uganda or Rwanda for gorilla trekking, we strongly recommend insurance that specifically covers:

  • Trekking activities
  • Emergency medical evacuation
  • Trip cancellation due to illness or unforeseen circumstances

Health and Vaccinations

Before traveling, consult your doctor or travel clinic regarding recommended vaccinations and health precautions.

Depending on your destination, recommendations may include:

  • Yellow Fever
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Typhoid
  • Tetanus
  • Routine vaccinations

Some countries may require proof of Yellow Fever vaccination if arriving from or transiting through affected regions.

Emergency Assistance

We recommend carrying the following information during your trip:

  • Travel insurance policy number
  • Emergency contact details
  • Passport copy
  • Airline and accommodation confirmations
  • Medical information and prescriptions (if applicable)
